Dear Readers,
Many of you have noticed that I’ve been absent from the blogosphere. Absent, that is, until I received these two very nice emails:
(1) From Eugene: “Karen, are you out of the blogging business? I hope not.”
(2) From Tom: “Karen - why'd you stop posting? Your blog is really useful - I've been sweeping for years, and just tried out sculling. It's great, but completely different, and your tips are very handy.”
These email jogged me awake, and I’m now here to tell you why I had been elsewhere.
It all started last fall, when the fresh Macintosh apples came out. I was visiting my father and his wife. She knows how much I love the fresh Macs (and pretty much only the fresh ones), so she offered me one from a bowl she had on the coffee table. I took the one right on top – a shiny, round one that was half red and half green. Since I’m an only child and don’t have to worry about anyone stealing my things, I sometimes eat food in reverse favorite order. Like with M&Ms – I eat the brown ones first, working my way back to the red ones. They’re the best. For a while there they didn’t make them because of Red Dye Number Whatever scares (even though M&Ms never had that dye in them to begin with).
Anyway, preferring green apples to red generally, I started eating the red side of the apple my father’s wife had offered me. Next thing I realize, I’m lying in this glass box, my Centro buzzing to tell me I have mail.
I have to say, waking up in a glass coffin is pretty creepy. I don’t recommend it.
But on reading those two kind emails, I felt much better. So here I am. Stay tuned for some more semi-regular posts. I have so much stuff in my head that needs to get into yours.
Welcome back. I have been a long standing subscriber to your blog and been lurking around for sometime. I don't think I ever got round to making any comments but found what you were writing very interesting. I often find myself teaching old and young how to scull and your ideas helped add a few more tools to the toolbag. Anyway I look forward to reading your future posts and will definitely try and make more comments.
